La Imagen de la Semana: Gullfoss

En la imagen, el río Hvítá forma Gullfoss, o Cascada Dorada, en su recorrido hacia un cañón. El río es alimentado por el segundo glaciar más grande de Islandia, el Lángjökull.

A light mist rises from Iceland’s Gullfoss (Golden Falls) as it plunges in steps to the canyon below. The mighty flow is located on the Hvítá River, which in turn is fed by Iceland’s second biggest glacier, the Lángjökull.

“A great cloud of dust formed in the distance as we drove through the deserted Icelandic highlands,” writes Your Shot member Charlotte Goss. “We stopped the car and seized our cameras as the herd of Icelandic horses sped toward us. They watched us as we watched them, each of us surprised by the others’ presence. It was over in seconds, yet forever frozen with a single click.”
