La Imagen de la Semana: Cañón Bryce
Primera nevada bajo la luz del amanecer en el Parque Nacional de Cañón Bryce, en Utah☺
Your Shot member Nick Ocean caught the first snow of the season in
Utah’s Bryce Canyon National Park in November 2015. This early morning
shot, taken from the aptly named Sunrise Point, required some off-road
driving and skirting around a downed tree. All that work earned Ocean
the privilege of being the only person in the park to enjoy this
particular scene.

La Imagen de la Semana: León marino
Los leones marinos de Nueza Zelanda se encuentran en peligro debido a estres climático, enfermedades y accidentes de pesca, lo que ha hecho que su población se vea reducida a mínimos históricos.
Endangered New Zealand sea lions are often found in the rata forests of
their home nation’s Auckland Islands. Thanks to myriad threats—climate
stress, disease, and fishing hazards—their population is significantly
down from historical levels. Your Shot member Jacob Anderson came across
this animal near Ranui Cove on the northeast coast of Auckland Island.
True to the species’ reputation of being bold around humans, the sea
lion was unbothered while lounging on a rich bed of green moss.

La Imagen de la Semana: Reunión
A 27 km de la costa de Tasmania, lobos marinos de Nueva Zelanda, albatros y gaviotas se reúnen para darse un festín a los pies de una gran roca, antiguo remanente del continente. En este antiguo monolito también anidan aves marinas.
Your Shot member Andy Chisholm was taking a break from a rigorous
surfing session when he captured from the flybridge of his boat this
photo of a “feeding frenzy.” The rock towering above the
waves—Eddystone, an ancient remnant of the mainland—is about 27
kilometers (17 miles) off the coast of Tasmania, Australia, and some
seabirds have been recorded nesting there. In this photo, New Zealand
fur seals join albatrosses and seagulls in the apparent feast.

Eastlyn Bright Tolle, a National Geographic Your Shot member,
submitted this image of Niagara Falls. From her vantage point, “right on
the other side of a wall that separated [her] from this perilous drop,”
she was able to create a unique and thrilling perspective: one that
doesn’t allow the viewer to consider the safety of the overlook from
which the photo was taken.

National Park in Hokkaido, Japan. “He [seemed] to have eaten no mouse
for several days,” writes Your Shot member Hiroki Inoue of this fox,
captured as it lifted its head to the rays.
